An important feature of my popular magic show is
the use of trained animals, consisting of a dwarf angora bunny,
a huge black and white “dalmatian” rabbit, and doves.
A typical show starts like this:
I place several pieces of tissue in an empty cake pan and set them on fire. (When performing for children, I always remind them they should never light matches.)
As the flame bursts forth, I quickly place a lid on the pan, then just as quickly remove it. A live, snow white dove flies out!
Next I place the bird inside an empty bag. An audience helper circles the top of the bag with a pink magic marker “wand” and the bird emerges, a bright, pink color!
Other animal tricks include both a bird and rabbit “playing dead” – on their backs with legs straight up until touched with a magic wand. Another time a rabbit pops out of a container shown to be empty.
Other tricks include: rope illusions, disappearing tricks, mind-reading, turning a bowl of sugar into candy and items magically changing colors.
At the end of the show, audience members are invited to pet the rabbits and “shake hands” with a dove.
Each show is age-appropriate. I specialize in magic productions for young children and for senior events, Over-55 communities, assisted living facilities and AARP clubs like both the magic and rapport with the magician. Kiddie shows for birthday parties, Christmas, Chanukah and Kwanzaa enjoy an added dimension when the Magic of Barb Terry is part if the fun! I also do magic for street festivals, churches, temples, weddings, schools, clubs, Scouts, block parties, etc.
